Do I need to update my america credit cards?

We are going to Paris, London and Brussels in July 2014, do I need the credit cards with the chip in them for these countries? I read that these kind can be copied by thieves. Reply to this

You can use credit cards without the chip in London, but ones with the chip are the most commonly used throughout Europe. Not many banks in the US issue cards with a chip anyway so you will have to search for that. We found that Bank of America credit cards are probably the easiest as they all have a chip. In the uk chip and pin is the most common way of paying with your card, same across most of Europe. Probably worth getting one with a chip if you can. Reply to this
