No recommendations - but in February you'll have the pick of the city - the bottom of the off season 😊 Reply to this

How cheap you wanna go in Rome Ali?

I'm seeing plenty of places for about $20-30 (USD)... that sound good? No curfew, free internet, common room (I love being able to congregate with people). There are some places for $13-16, but they all seem to have the lowest ratings. heheh

Hostel Guy's Paradise Free breakfast AND Dinner! FREE espresso, cappuccino, juice, the'...throughout the day! And most important of all "We don't send any confirmations of reservation to Italian Consulate." hahah

M&J Hostel

Red Cheeks Hostel Sounds like something out of a porno! hahah

Hostel guys sounds good - the sad thing is that I saw "free wireless internet" and thought cool - my laptop is wireless. Reply to this

the farther away you get from the train station, the nicer (and consequently more expensive) the hostels get. The one I stayed in close to the station was filthy, crowded, and not that cool at all. Sorry I can't remember the name 😞

We probably stayed there 😉

I'm pretty tolerant of filth and crowding - but appreciate it when I do bump into a nice hostel... we ended up in M&J's hostel, wifi there too.

Only complaints I had were about the other "guests" - living a nocturnal life regardless of people sleeping - you know - all the lights on, talking full volume, plastic bags - 4.30am... Reply to this

I think I was very spoiled by my first Hostel experience in Tokyo. The place Ali and I stayed at in Rome could of been better, but the location was perfect (in my eyes). Power was pretty damn unreliable, and NOTHING in the rooms for power, the Spanish girls needed a good punch, but all in all I had fun there (the conversations with people there were a riot!!!). I think it's all what you make of it. Keep forgetting things on my little trips though. Need to remember some flip flops next time. Reply to this

Oh god yes the flip flops. Right up there with Swiss Army knife in the top ten things not to forget. That lesson was burned in my brain as I stood barefoot in the science-experiment shower... Reply to this

Well, the swiss army knife is pretty hard these days unless you check baggage. I'm into packing and taking carry on only... carrying a knife is not an option anymore. Reply to this
