When is the best moment for buying train tickets in Europe, beforehand or at the station?

This depends on where and when you are traveling. For short distances it is probably OK to buy on the spot, but for longer distances it usually makes sense to buy your ticket beforehand. The tickets are usually cheaper the sooner you buy them, in Sweden for example 90 days before you can get super cheap tickets, while they may be 3 or 4 times as expensive if you buy them at the same day. If you are traveling around vacation time or holidays prices will be higher and tickets may be sold out. You can find tickets prices and time tables on the web, to help your planning, and you can buy your tickets on the internet too. Reply to this
