Visa inquiries on visiting UK & Europe
11 years ago, January 30th 2013 No: 1 Msg: #165750
Hi there,

I have a question. Let's say I booked a flight to UK, and in between the period of my trip (total 2 weeks), I would like to visit another European country in the Schengen Area. The trick question is that what are the rules of departing Schengen area and entering UK again? Is there any form of paperwork that I need to pay particular attention to? Do note that I am holding a Singapore passport, thus there is no need for me to apply for a visa in advance.

Thanks,

Hello Farhan, if you can obtain a visa on arrival in the first instance, then you will be able to obtain it on subsequent visits. The key is to have you outbound air ticket with you both on arriving in the UK and in any Schengen country - in fact on the flight I took from London to Madrid, they would not let me check-in my luggage until I showed them my outbound flight from Rome to Dubai. You may be asked for information on where you are staying, and that might even extend to how you will fund your visit, but in most cases, such questions do not pose a problem. Reply to this
