List 3 absolutely amazing songs I've not likely heard before so I can download before my trip.....
Oh...how did I miss this one?
Pat Metheny Group - It's Just Talk (the piano instrumental just after the two minute mark is simply sublime)
Cal Tjader - Shoshana
Moorcheeba - On the Rhodes Again
I know you said 3 but the following song has become something of a travel anthem for me, despite the fact that I generally despise dunka dunka music:
DJ Tiesto - Just Be
Oh sod it....one more:
Conception - My Decision
Err...another one:
Dave Brubeck - Take Five

Reply to this Thanks Nick. Unfortunately I am already on the road. Will definitely listen to them when I get back (not heard of any of them!)
Reply to this Well, enjoy your trip Dean 😊
Another chilled out vibe I forgot to mention:
David Axelrod - Holy Thursday

On the basis of seeing "Happy Hour" mentioned in the opening post, and the memories it brought me, I've purchased
Hull 4 London 0 and
Now That's What I Call Quite Good on CD and both albums are now on my MP3 player. Some really wonderful songs from this band.

Excellent news, please ensure he grabs the longer version of Downhearted and not the original. I would interested to hear his (and your) opinion on these tracks.
Reply to this Shane,
I had a listen to that Australian Crawl album.
There are some great tracks on it.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Reply to this Glad you enjoyed them Nick! The lead singer, James Reyne, is known for his poor diction in songs, so hope you can follow the words. On the other hand, Mark Seymour (lead singer of Hunters and Collectors) has beautiful clarity. Under One Roof (a great album of their final concert before splitting in 1998) is on my MP3, though different in style to Sons of Beaches.
