Hi guys, I know you probably get loads of topics about visa and are sick of them, but I have one particular question I haven\'t been able to get an answer to..

My girlfriend is originally Russian and has a visa for 2 years in the UK. I live in the Netherlands for study, and she has visited me a number of times, each time applying for a visa.

After the last application she was given a multiple-entry Schengen visa, issued by the Dutch consulate of course, for 3 months.

My question is; because the visa was issued by The Netherlands, is it allowed to use this visa for travel to e.g. Italy, without visiting the Netherlands during that particular trip? I\'ve heard stories about the destination of your trip should always be near the country for which the visa was issued. I personally think it shouldn\'t matter because of the Schengen regulations, allowing free travel of persons.

I really hope someone can help me out! Thank you! Reply to this

As far as I know, if it's a schengen visa, free movement is permitted within the schengen zone. So it shouldn't be a problem. Reply to this
