Traveling to Australia in early march - Posted Anonymously

I have heard that the weather in Cairns in early March is extremely wet. Been told that it is the end of the monsoon season and doing the tourist things is difficult.

Can some body respond to this with personal knowledge of the weather situation in Cairns, Australia in early March?

If you do a search on google i'm sure you'd come up with plenty of accurate results, i've not got any personal experience i'm afraid but here's a few links to get you going...

http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/200403/html/IDCJDW4024.200403.shtml - this one shows how much rain in mm they had during March 04

and this link says this ... 'Autumn: March - May

Autumn in Cairns is the time to cool off and recover from the hot wet season. The difference between autumn and summer is slight however, so don't get your hopes up. The only real difference is lower rainfall. The average daytime temperature is 30°C ... http://www.cairnsaccommodation.com/weather.html

Hope some of that helps!:o)
