World War II tours of Europe

Looking for info on World War II tours of Europe.

I am in the beginning stages of researching World War II tours of Europe. I could be ready for the tour by September. Tour length of around two weeks or more would be my preference. I'd like to see the Normandy beaches, some of the battlefield sites, some museums, concentration camps and other historical sites relating to the war. Not sure if I'll rent a car, use the train or hook up with an escorted tour - I'm open to suggestions. Any good or bad experiences and/or recommendations appreciated.

Thanks.

I would definitely recommend Auschwitz near Krakow, Poland to add to your list. There are many concentration camp sites in Poland (another big one Majdanek) but this one is a must.

I just types in world war 2 tours into google and got several things but most were only for 2-3 days.. And of course mostly in Germany.. Maybe somewhere you could find a Germany/Poland tour that takes longer.. Also dont forget Eastern Europe as this is often forgot (Baltic States) during the 2 world war and I am sure tours will head through here also.

I am not to sure if the tours will be more in a tour group or a personal guide which will be quite expensive. July-September would be the best time to get a tour as the peak tourist seaon is then. Reply to this
