Hi,

Take a flight from KTM to Lukla apx. 100$ one way.
Trek from Lukla to Everest Base camp for around 2 weeks round trip.
Fly back to KTM from Lukla.
No need to take organised tour.
In KTM organise TIMS permit(10$ as I remember good, used to be free)in NTB office and buy in KTM Sagmaratha National Park enterance fee 1000NRS (around 14$).
And u r ready to go😉

Hi Marcin,

Thnak you for taking the time to reply to my questions. Since you seem to know what you are talking about, i would like to ask you a few more.

1. Were you able to leave any of your luggage anywhere? We are travelling with big backpacks and i know i would not be able to make the hike with all that weight.

2. Accomodation wise i assume there are camps along the way?? Do they sell food and meals?? Do we need to bring any food along with us??

3. You say it is 2 weeks round trip, how many hours per day were you hiking?

I wuld grealty appreciate if you could find a few minutes to answer these questions as well.

Thanks in advance

Daniel

we used a great company and they couldn't have made it easier for us. would work out cheaper to go it alone and is definately possible but for that once in a life time experience i would suggest going with guides so all you need think about is wlaking and enjoying th eviews

they sort accommodation, food, flights, route plan, breaks, carry your bags, etc etc

if you have any specific questions let me know

here is our blog and i have tried to answer your points above (without steeling Marcins thunder)

1 - you could easily leave your luggage with a guest house in thamel (Ktm) or with the trekking company - i suggest hiring porters - it injects money into the economy and you can enjoy the hike

2 - there are camp sites and guest houses all the wy up, our company organised this for us and we stayed in budget but comfortable places - it gets very cold at night so might want to bear that in mind. you can buy anything and everything all the way to the top - the proces get higher as you get higher!

we did the trip in about 2 weeks, distances are short and we didn't walk more than 6 hours a day - acclimatisation is very important so no point in rushing up only to make yourself ill and have to return before reaching you goal!

Previous post explains everything😊
Hiking time per day can vary ... depends on your acclimatization...but usually it is 3-6 hours..as u go higer u trek less couse u spend more time aclimitazing..

There is no need to carry any food u can get everything along the way. Everest area is not a remote area anymore.
If u have any questions just ask😊
