I honestly do not know where to begin with the planning. This will be for June/July2011 I have started saving money & miles on my AA almost have enough for all 4 tickets (we are 2/2). We thought of cruise/land but I think we will enjoy & see more on land only. I am so clueless on planning this I want to see Disney Paris since this will probably be a 1 time trip. HELP ME PLEASE!!! Accomidations as long as clean & safe I am ok
Budget wise I am a realist there is no cheap in Europe my motto is reasonable do it right the first time no regrets. Open to all suggestions my hubby & teens we are all easy go with the flow but like to have things at least organzied & planned ahead to help things go smoothly. We really do not want to stress once there. Reply to this

I personally would do Paris/London, but that is only because I'm pretty fond of the English. :-) And Rome might be pretty hot at that time of the year, but it is a great city too. Not really safe though as there are lots of pick pocketers. At least that is what is said. Germany has beautiful places too by the way.

Hi Carolyn, What a wonderful birthday present for your daughter! Paris has plenty of hotel rooms for travelers, some of them can be extremely pricey, I have been happy with the accomadations in the 2 star hotels were you can expect clean, small rooms with tiny bathrooms. When I was last there (1995) these rooms were in the 90 to 120 Euro per night range. These hotels were in the 7th and 16th Arrondesmonts. I have heard that hotels in the Maris are good values but have not experienced them first hand. Hotels in the Latin Quarter can be a value but the area can be very "lively" ie Noisy from the youngsters. We booked a room in a hotel just off the Champs de Mars (7th) for an extra 10 euros with a "tower view" true you could see the tower from the room ,The very tip of it that is, if you stuck your head out the window and craned your neck to the left! So check it out before you spring for the up charge. When you arrive in Paris you can take a taxi from the airport but the Train (RER) is easy and cheap, and will take you to the city center and points in between. Once in Paris the metro system is a very effeicient way of getting around. When you go to see the tower plan to go early as they open or late about an hour before they close as the que to get in during other times can eat up to two hours of sight seeing time. We enjoyed the River tour up the Seine where you can see several of the major monuments from the river. You can board from a location just across the Boulvard from the Eifel tower. Disney Paris is located outside of Paris Proper and will probably require a train ride to get there. I have not been so don't have much info for you. A lot of helpful info is contained in several travel books specific to Paris Frommers, The lonely planet etc. Get a couple of these and they can point you in the right direction. Restraunts in Paris can range from simple bistros to Elegant 5 star budget busters. I have found the smaller "Mom and Pop" places to have excellent faire and atmosphere. And for even more economy try going to the local small markets for cold cuts, cheeze, bread ,wine etc for the room. As far as London or Rome go I can not speak for London as I have not been. Rome while an amazing City with lots of things to see and do in August when I was there it was hot, dusty, and traffic polluted. Might not be as bad in June or July . Good luck and happy birthday to your daughter I think you will have a wonderful time.
