A good place to settle for a year in Ireland?

Hey guys! Doing the swap program in March 2010 for a year and was wondering if anyone had any good tips on a good place to settle in Ireland? I've heard lots of good things about Galway but just wanted to get some more opinions and experiences! Thanks! Reply to this

Hello Katherian 😊

That is a difficult choice. Both are great cities with lots of places to go near them.

One decider may be the price of accomodation. It is ridiculously expensive in Dublin, unless you share a house with others. I don't know what it costs in Galway.

I would personally much rather settle in Galway. It feels much more authentic and charming. Just an opinion though. Reply to this

Ya I figured, thank you guys so much for the help! Last question, people have been saying that Irelands economy has been hit pretty hard with the recession, any word on the job situation? Reply to this

Yeah, jobs will likely be hard to find right now. But, I have always been able to find something in Dublin, even at the worst economic times. Not always good or well paying or even reliable jobs though.
