THE HISTORY OF HOSPITALITY:
As cited by Texas Tech University, the word "hospitality" comes from the Latin root meaning "host" or "hospice." The university further noted that the first hotels were nothing more than private homes opened to the public. Most, unfortunately, had poor reputations. Under the influence of the Roman Empire, inns and hotels began catering to the pleasure traveler in an effort to encourage visitors.
The difference between the hotels, motels and B&B:
In fact there is no difference all that’s names are a hotel anonymous depends on buildings, locations, and services.

Hotels
Description: A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short-term basis.
Buildings: in hotels case the building is very important thing its reflex what type of service they serve also its depends on the location if its in hometown or in country side , now days there is a competition which hotel is the tallest, biggest and more modern.
Locations: usually most of the hotels are in middle of the city around the moles, big company and government organization or near to the airport.
Services: hotel building & service they specify the hotel chain. The provision of basic accommodation, in times past, consisting only of a room with a bed, a cupboard, a small table and a washstand has largely been replaced by rooms with modern facilities, including en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning or climate control. Additional common features found in hotel rooms are a telephone, an alarm clock, a television, and Internet connectivity; snack foods and drinks may be supplied in a mini-bar, and facilities for making hot drinks. Larger hotels may provide a number of additional guest facilities such as a restaurant, a swimming pool or childcare, and have conference and social function services.

Motels
Description: In theory, motel means "motor hotel" or accommodations that are easily reached by automobile. These used to be one-story multi-unit facilities along the American roadways. In fact, they have grown to include multi-story accommodations in cities that are not car friendly.
Buildings: There is nearly no difference these days between hotels and motels. The motel guaranteed parking near your room but that is no longer always the case and hotels in these days usually have parking available too.
Locations: usually motels are along the roadway near to gaze stations & differ from hotels in their common location along highways, as opposed to the urban cores favored by hotels, and their orientation to the outside (in contrast to hotels whose doors typically face an interior hallway). Motels almost by definition include a parking lot, while older hotels were not built with automobile parking in mind.
Services: as its locations thy serve the basic human been needs it’s the temporary place to rest after long trip.

B&B (bed and breakfast)
Description: bed and breakfast (B&B) are small inn private homes with only one or two bedrooms available for commercial use, also there is other kind of B&B have less than 15 rooms.
Buildings: Generally, they are in scenic locations or historic buildings, will have less than 15 rooms & small inn private homes have only one or two bedrooms or in a suite of rooms including an en suite bathroom. Some homes have private bedrooms with a bathroom which is shared with other guests, many bed and breakfasts offer themed rooms, which may be decorated in different styles or built around different ideas.
Locations: These small inns are found all over the world, and are often a pleasant change from the impersonal feeling of a giant hotel.
Services: as the name implies, a bed and breakfast includes a morning meal in the room rate such as pastries, cold cereal and beverages, other bed and breakfasts base much of their reputation on a spectacular meal. Some inns hire cooks especially for the meal, or use recipes based around the inn’s theme. While some bed and breakfasts do have made-to-order meals, many operate off a set menu or allow visitors to select from a menu the night before their breakfast. If you have special dietary needs, ask the innkeepers in advance if they can meet them, as most will be willing to accommodate you.
Many keep menus from local restaurants on hand for you to peruse for lunch and dinner options. Some bed and breakfasts will offer deals on tickets to local attractions that may be purchased separately or booked as part of a package deal with your room.
