I will be arriving in Spain (Barcelona) in Mid July! Hurray!

I will be making a trip for a total of 3 weeks, half of which will be in spain and the rest in Morroco.

I will be landing in Barcelona, but i won't be taking off from spain..i'll be in Casa Blanca.

Ok, so thats the background. Now, onto the future 😊 What do you recommend I visit in Spain? I will most likely stay about 3 - 4 days in Barcelona (i'm told its a must) but then i will be travelling down the west side of spain all the way down to the ferry that will take me to Tangier.

What do you recommend (in the west side) that I see...i'll mostly be taking buses, mabey a train (mabey). My budget is really really tight and will be staying in Hostels along the way.

Barcelona --> Valencia (1 day?) --> Granada? --> ??

what are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Hello Alex

10 days to go along the southern part of Spain is a good time. I've not been to Valencia or Cordoba, but Ive heard strong recommendations on both. I would definitely suggest you see the Alhambra in Granada - it is amazing. If you are going in July, book your tickets in advance at the official ticket site. There is a limit to the number of people allowed into the site every day and you are heading there in peak season. I would also suggest a night visit to the Nasrid Palace - the lighting highlights the intricate carvings of the building. I also liked Seville as well, but to fit all of these cities in 10 days, and to include transport, might be a bit tight for time. You should be able to fit in all bar one of the cities I've mentioned.

Bus is the best way to go for a budget traveller in Spain, as though the trains are great, they are not cheap. You might want to check what are the deals on a multiday Spanish train pass just in case. Reply to this

Seville is sensational if you get a chance to go after visiting the Alhambra in Granada. Check out our travel blogs on our trip to Spain in March 2007! Reply to this
