Reply to this i live in melbourne and it gets bloody cold in those months, but the more north you go the warmer it gets
alot of travelers either buy or rent a van and drive up stopping off in each of the towns along the way, you can get them with beds ect already in the vans so you can save on accommodation if that's up your alley..

and then in queensland
goldcoast
brisbane
noosa
fraser island
harvey bay
hamilton island
airlie beach
magnetic island
port douglas
they are the popular places which i can recommend
