my granddaughter and I are leaving for munich June 4, 2009 and plan to take a train to barii, then a ferry to athens. we want to go to santorini and myconos. we have 19 days. Do you think this can be done? We then need to get back the same way to fly out of munich.

How many days should we plan for each of athens, santorini, myconos.

It all depend on what you want to see and do but in 2 days you got a good impression of Athens. All of the main attractions are close together.
To see Myconos you only need one day.
You can see the most of Santorini in one day too but it's so beautiful you probably don't want to leave...

I do not think that you need only 2 days to see athens and 2 days to see Mykonos and Santorini. I advice you as I am from Greece, Athens, to spend a week or 5 days to Athens to see the town during day and night, there so much things to do and the other days to visit Mykonos and Santorini. The islands are both beautiful. I found a new blog on the internet the url is <snip> that has many information for Mykonos, accommodation deals, culture, beaches and many other and the blogger says that next week would provide info for Santorini. Also provides valuable information about what you should take with you during your vacation in Greece
