| Is it possible without a working holiday visa? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Round The World Rach Rachel Waterworth Post Count: 41 Msg: #1 29 weeks ago, May 24th 2009 | I am in NZ on a visitor visa and have decided to extend my stay for a couple of months specifically to do some WWOOFING. I've read on the website that you need to have a working holiday visa. Is this right or are people doing this on a visitors visa with no problems? I don't want to go and pay the membership if I can't actually go to any farms? If this is the case does anyone else know of any other schemes where I don't need the working visa? | Fra82 Francesca Post Count: 19 Msg: #2 29 weeks ago, May 25th 2009 | actually, form what I know (as my sister is in Australia at the moment) you can stay there for a year as a visitor...but if you want to stay longer you have to work in a farm for 3 months to get your visa extended. | Other option is to get a job and find a sponsor that will pay the gov. for your working visa ( up to 3 years? not so sure thou). try to see some more info on the govrnmt sites... Good luck... :-) Jo Trouble Jo McCarthy Post Count: 3115 Msg: #3 29 weeks ago, May 26th 2009 | Hi Rachel, | What passport are you traveling on? With WWOOFing you don't receive financial payment, so I'm sure quite a few would just be on visitors visas. I have a friend who used the scheme in Europe, and she was only there on visitor visas. twotravelbugs Karen and Colin Post Count: 101 Msg: #4 29 weeks ago, May 27th 2009 | I think officially you are meant to have a WHV, but I am sure there are people who WWOOF and dont. | Round The World Rach Rachel Waterworth Post Count: 41 Msg: #5 28 weeks ago, May 30th 2009 | Cool, I've joined and it seems to be fine - thanks everyone! | Number of Users: 4 | Number of Posts: 5 | |||||||||||||
