Hi,

My name is Mike and for the past 6months I've been working all the hours of the day to save for the trip of a lifetime around Europe. I have a few questions and hope some one can answer them.

first, I will have about £4,500 (6300 euros) to go with, now including my accomodation and inter-rail ticket each month how long do you reckon I can stay in Europe for? was looking at a minimum of 3 months

Second, should I make a rough plan or is it best to just go with no plan and see where I end up?

Finally, I planning on leaving late June or very early July, is this too late to see all the splenders of Europe like festivals etc? I really dont want to miss la tomatina but thats at the end of August. when is the bull fighting season over?

Hope some of my questions can be answered.

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike. I can't speak specifically to all of your questions, but I would encourage you to check out some of the budget travel books out there (Lonely Planet, Let's Go, etc.) as I think they would probably help you the most with regards to where to stay and how to make your money go farther... I lived in the UK for awhile and did some traveling around Europe every chance I got and I lived off of the Let's Go books. They do make a giant "Let's Go Europe" book, however I wouldn't recommend getting that one since it ends up leaving a lot of stuff out - I mean, they kinda have to given the amount of places they're trying to squeeze in between the cover. Instead, if you decide to pick up any of their stuff, get their books that are specific to a region or a city that you plan to spend some time in. For example, I went on a 10-day trip to Rome and picked up "Let's Go Rome" which I found exceedingly useful. Just my two cents...or pence, as the case may be. 😊 Hope that's helpful! Reply to this
