Travel help

Hi fellow travelers:

Every summer, I pick a country to visit and stay there for a month/month-and-half. Have been doing it for 6 years now. I plan to visit Riga, Latvia this summer--arrive sometime in the 1st/2nd week of June and leave end of July. This year I also have to get more work done (than I usually do) while I'm there. I need suggestions for some good and cheap studio-type accommodations for 6/7 weeks (Internet connection would be plus). My budget is 750USD for accommodation.

I would also appreciate any other general info regarding Riga....including dos and donts and places to avoid.....

Thanks Reply to this

i dont have advice for where to stay although if your struggling you could stay in a hostel called fun time frankies which was an amazing place to stay and would be within your budget for the duration of your stay. my advice when you get there is get a book called 'riga in your pocket' which is avaialble almost everywhere for a lat (equivalent 1 euro). its quite a funny publication with a wealth of information on where to go etc and has an honest review of restaurants in the city. some of the put downs for the restaurants were hilarious though it also recommended some great places and we enjoyed some very good korean, thai, mexican....... food. Riga has just about every type of restauarant you can imagine. we were there in the winter and there was a million things to do so there will be plenty to occupy you with in the summer. check out hotel riga, a luxury hotel in the middle of riga. i dont think you will be staying there :P but vistitors can go in and enjoy it. on the top floor is a sauna where the 4 walls are glass and you look out over the city whilst sitting in a sauna. good times 😊 Reply to this
