Interested in finding centrally located rental property to plant and do day trips from. Suggestions? Any recommendations of rental property companies? Specific areas to stay? Would prefer staying in/near Lake Como but open to staying closer to Bologna. | glammakid sg Post Count: 4 Msg: #2 39 weeks ago, March 27th 2009 | If you're looking to stay near Lake Como, then making the main town Como on the left "leg" or Lecco on the "right" leg your base would make sense? That way you're by the lake, but south enough for the connection to Bologna to be easier. | For property rentals you might try either Holiday Rentals who seem to have a pretty decent selection, or maybe Casamundo The Lake Como area is really great so i think you'll enjoy yourself there...make sure you take a trip up to Bellagio and maybe stop at Nesso on the way. You should definitely take at least one boat trip on the lake ( this website is quite useful) and visit Comacina Island (Isola Comacina) too. Ooh and the ice cream (gelato) is delicious so try out some of the gelaterias!! For more ideas maybe look at this website A day trip to Milan may be possible too, depends how long you're staying of course but I really don't think you'll get bored!
