Suggestions for Blue Mountains holiday

Hello, I'm planning on going down to the Blue Mountains later this year and I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on what to do there? It has to be on reasonably level ground (I'm unsteady) and I like my creature comforts - when staying somewhere.
Also do you know anything about car hire companies? What I should be wary of etc.
Even though I am an Aussie, I'm pretty unaware :)
Thank you Reply to this

Hey how are you,

the blue mountains is a beautiful and big national park. I would recommend taking a day trip with an experienced guide (preferably someone who has lived there). You should then spend the day pick ing his or her brains as for the best places to visit.

The main tourist sites are "echo point" and the scenic world - i would recommend visiting those places as quickly as possible - then move on to a less populated places - you'll find they are just like bus car parks!!!

Car hire - i always say - go with a BIG company that give you ALL the terms and conditions up front - IE doesnt start adding costs as you pick up the car for insurance and kms etc. let us know if you need any more help, and let us know how the trip is. Reply to this

From Sydney to the Blue Mountains the train service is great so if you want to save a few dollars forget the car. Aside form the main attractions - Wentworth Falls and Govetts Leap are worth a look also. Do some of the walks from Echo Point at Katoomba also, but do the Giant Stairway on the way down to the valley and take the scenic railway back up (much less exhausting) Reply to this
