Hi,

I recently drove from Cairn to Melbourne... couldn't really help you with the rental of a campervan as i only rented a car but i took about 3 weeks until i reached Sydney. I guess there's no real time limit for you but i found 2-3 nights in each place i went to was enough and i only ever drove a max of 4 hours a day 'cos it gets boring on those straight roads!!

It all depends wha sort of stuff you are looking to do but i loved it in te very small towns of 1770 and Agnes Water so go there, you'll get cheap surfing lessons there as well as kayaking although there is little nightlife.

Just south of Brisbane you've got surfers paradise, so if you like the nightlife, you'll love it there, along with Byron Bay although i never went there myself. A quieter place that i loved was Ballina, there's little to do there but theres a good beach and you can see dolphins for free without having to spend $40 on a tour!

Hope this helps, have a great trip!!!

hi,

you should leave 1-2 month left for your trip. i would recommend you to close a deal in one of the travel agencies. These deals usually include a coach pass+ accommodation in some of the hostels + tickets for the main attractions along the East Coast. if you want to hear about places to go check out http://www.trekcafe.com/Travel-Destinations/?action=AU they have got cool suggestions that helped me when i was there, or you can message me.
hope this info helps you Reply to this
