We are planning a mid to late March visit to Sydney, Cairnes and then the Fiji Islands... getting nervous about this being the wet-season. Any experienced travelers have thoughts on this?
I am having second thoughts about traveling in March, especially to Cairnes and the Fiji Islands. The more I read about the heavy rains and cyclones, the more I wish we were going a bit later... like the end of April. I do realize that the weather is going to be different, depending on where we are and when, and that even though it might rain, we can have periods of sunshine... but right now I am thinking the "worse". I would hate to travel to all of these beautiful places only to have the whole trip be ruined because of the weather. Has anyone traveled during this time, or does anyone live in these areas who can help me understand what we might encounter?
Reply to this Hi,
Was in Sydney last March, and the weather was amazing...don't know for Fiji.
Reply to this I am going to be in Melbourne in Feb, hoping to be in Sydney for April time, hoping the weather will be good.
Reply to this Thanks for your replies... I think I am looking for reasurance more than anything. I know that Fiji, right now is having devastating rains and flooding, unlike ever before. My prayers go out to those that live there. That leg of our journey I really question!
