Where can we stay that's closest to all the attractions?

I'm backpacking through Europe with my boyfriend this January and I'm not quite sure where to look to get a hostel. London is so huge and it looks like all the attractions are spread out throughout the city. Any suggestions on where we should look at staying? Reply to this

Hostel are often conveniently located in the centers of cities, in Europe. Just google hostel and the name of the city you want to go to and a list will come up. There is usually a description of each hosel and its facilities. The description will also tell you if the hostel is in a central location.

Plenty of Hostels and Backpacker places can be booked direct in internet. We booked the Royal Bayswater on a site(possible hostelworld.com). We ended up not staying there becaise I made a killing on some shares and had some extra cash to spend. We stayed at the Mayflower in Earls Court. Any of those areas around tube stations(especially Picardilly and Central Lines) have plenty of options and are easy to get around london from. If you are there for more than a couple of days...get an Oyster card and travel on the tube after 9.30am in the morning. Reply to this

One of my favourite places to visit is London's South bank. It’s the cultural heart of the city and home to London’s most magnificent attractions, theatres and festivals.

There’s a great selection of hotels, cafes, bars and restaurants for all budgets. It’s within easy walking distance from Covent Garden, Soho, Westminster and the City of London.

The area is busy all year round with free events, exhibitions, theatre, debates and festivals. Many of London’s famous tourist attractions are within walking distance or a short ride on public transport.
