Hello, I am a 27 year old travelling to Australia from the UK for the first time in January alone. My plans so far are to do a few days in Sydney, 5 days learning to surf trip from Sydney to Byron Bay, then continuing up the EAst coast to Cairns. Fly from Cairns to Uluru and there on to Melbourne. This is my first time travelling alone so does anyone have any tips or anything I should definately see? Anyone else travelling alone then too?
Thanks! Lisa.

Reply to this Hi loobyclare
I am Babak (Bob). I am originally Iranian, but fluent in English. I have the same plan to travel to Australia at the same time and have a round-trip for a month or more. I have full UK driving lisence and hope I can drive there on a hired car for sightseeing and adventure. Have you gathered plenty of info. for your trip?
Do you mind if we discuss over travelling together to share the cost and enjoy travelling?
However, I don't mind help to pay more for some expenses.

Reply to this Hi. I just came back from a solo trip in Australia. I went to Uluru by myself, Sydney and lived in Brisbane for a few weeks. I had a friend meet me and we went in a campervan up to Cairns from Brisbane.
My solo part was fantastic. I met so many nice people and had so much fun. I am 40 and have travelled alot by myself, so maybe I'm okay with it, but you should do good if you are adventurous and want to meet other people.
Reply to this Hi Lisa, I came to Australia first time ON MY OWN a few years ago aged 28. People said I was brave but it's NOT VERY SCARY AT ALL!! I ended up coming back, again on my own, for a one year working holiday, and now I'm living here. People speak English, all the signs are in English, people are friendly. As long as you are reasonably sensible, like don't do anything silly that you wouldn't do back home in the UK, you should be FINE!! If you're staying for more than a few months, I recommend joining WWOOF (willing workers on organic farms wwoof.com.au) you get free food & accom in exchange for a few hours work a day and the bonus is you meet people and experience things that the average tourist would not. And you don't need a working visa for it because no money is exchanged. GOOD LUCK, enjoy your visit!

Reply to this I recommend listing all the emergency numbers on that place and be sure to bring extra money just for emergency case.
