Hi

my husband and i have finally finally decided to go (i think i bullied him into it lol!!) so we've worked out how much we want to save and when we would realistically be able to leave.

We've trawled through websites and looked at maps and we are still stumped as to the best route to take so i'd love to hear some good suggestions.

We are in ireland so we want to head towards asia first from a cost point of view we know our money will last longer out there plus we want to get to the sun lol!! Definately want to see thailand, the great wall of china, tibet, and eventually head on toward australia, NZ etc but this is to be a round the world trip excluding western europe cos we've pretty much seen most of it as its on our doorstep and tbh we can pretty much see europe whenever we fancy in the future for little cost.

So anyone got a route plan they'd suggest? also any ideas on places that are must see would be really appreciated whether its a really special way to travel between places or an area or something to do that will be a once in a lifetime experience.

Hello Claire 😊

What about travelling overland from Ireland to Australia as a special way to travel. Some on this site have alread done it so it is possible.
Check out the following blog about part of the overland trip that somebody made.
I've done it - UK to OZ overland.

A round the world plane ticket would be another option which would allow you to visit a number of continents on your trip.
