בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, לאחר שיום כיפור עבר, ולאחר שהתרגלנו לגובה, אנחנו מוכנים סוף סוף לצאת לטרק הווייוואש המיוחל היום החל בנסיעה של חמש שעות. הגענו לכפר יאמק, שם הועמסו החמורים בציוד שלנו והחלנו בהליכה. בעיקרון היום הראשון לא נחשב ליום מעניין, אלא ליום של הגעה לתחילת המסלול, אבל הנוף היה מדהים הגענו לקראת ערב למהאל שלנו, רועדים מקור וקצת מתבכיינים על לילה ראשון מחוץ לבית חם, אבל המדריך שלנו הפציץ בארוחת ערב מפנקת שהוא הגיש לנו ישר לתוך האוהל.... עם כזה שרות הלכנו לישון שבעים ומרוצים. למחרת קמנו מלאי מרץ להתחיל סוף סוף את הוויוואש באמת. האמת שקצת חששנו כי הפחידו אותנו שהמסלול קשה מאוד, והיום הזה התחיל בעלייה שאמורה להיות מפרכת... אבל זה לא היה קשה כמו שהובטח, ובעיקר, הנופים היו באמת מדהימים!! ביום הזה עלינו שני פסים, כאשר מיד אחרי הפס הראשון תקף אותנו ... read more

So after 2 weeks at Amazoonico, carrying ridiculously heavy buckets of food and fruit on my back and being dirtier than you can imagine, i headed to Vilcabamba, Ecuador, on my way south to Peru. I had planned to spend one night in Vilcabamba and then move on. 3 days later, i was still there. Not like i even liked Vilcabamba much. nothing much there. But, can we say SPA? dear god, the hostal had a SAUNA!, jacuzzi, steam room, pool, hammocks and a cute manager who walked around topless- bonus! . And the best yet, there was a massuese down the road who charged $8 for a massage!!!!!! שקלנו לעשות יום מנוחה קליל ולהתכונן לקראת יום כיפור, אבל החלטנו שההסתגלות לגבהים מחייבת אותנו להמשיך באימון הפיזי... אי לכך יצאנו במסע מזורז, כדי לסיים מספיק מוקדם לסעודה מפסקת והתארגנות לצום. תפסנו מונית לתחילת המסלול וסגרנו איתו שיחכה לנו בסוף היום, כי לא רצינו לקחת סיכונים מיותרים... כמובן שסגרנו זאת עם הידיים והרגליים, וקיווינו מאוד שהוא מבין.... האמת שאת המסלול עשינו מאוד מהר, אבל הנופים היו מהממים, הלגונה יפיפיה, והגוף שלנו מתחיל לאט לאט לעכל את הגובה. הגענו חצי שעה לפני המתוכנן לסיום. שיהיה ברור שכשאנחנו אומרים סוף מסלול אנחנו לא מתכוונים למקום עם ציווליזציה ותחבורה, אלא רק לנקודה מסוימת על שביל העפר.... הגשם החל לרדת ואנחנו כססנו ציפורניים מהלחץ שהנהג שלנו יבריז. שלוש דקות לפני השעה שנקבעה כבר כמעט התייאשנו והתחלנו לשבור את הראש לגבי מה נעשה, לקלל את הנהג, ולחשב אם יש לנו זמן ... read more

On Friday we went mountain biking. We hired bikes and took a bus to Punta Calla a pass in the Cordillera Negra which is a cordillera parallel to the cordillera blanka. After a not so short ride along which Naama have shown her spanish knowledge ( She have asked the driver to stop on the road for urgent needs and wait to her) we have reached the pass. At the beggining we started climbing to the near peak to see the view. Soon we decided that the view is great where we are and that we rather go down than to climb up. The way down was beautifull but not as fast as Gil wanted it to be. In the end Naama got a lift on a collectivo and Gil raced him (and won!!!!!). We arrived ... read more

We have arrived to Huaraz after a nine hours night bus. again a bus more comfotable than a plane and again we are sleeping door to door (we started thinking about spending all our nights in buses and saing money this way...). Despite the latitude and the bags we did not take a cub but walked to the hostal- we both got dizzy afterwards... We have landed in a great hostal, our room was in the third flour and the view from the window and the small porch was the Cordillera blanca - the high white mountains surroundeing Huaraz and the Huascaran - the highest mountain in Peru.
