The prince and the pauper...

Hello lovley people. We hope you are well and enjoying your day (let us know what your up to!)

It´s very exciting to write our first blog entry. We arrived in Rio at 8am and first impressions are: buzzy, hectic, lots of buses, diverse and relaxed.

When we got to the airport we were numb because getting ready became really hectic. On boarding a family of four took our exit row seats and lied through their teeth that they were theirs but their boarding passes said different!

NO WAY were we giving up the seats. The lovely air hostess went to sort it out and came back with a very exciting offer. Andy got a leg room seat (OH BLESS! Well he did go club class to New Zealand) and I (who made it very clear I had heart problems) got club class!

After about a 2 seconds and a little bit of guilt off I went! It was lush, three course meal, served on plates. Campagne, a flat bed, lots of nibbles, 2 course breakfast! Heaven. Although I did go back into the cheap seats to see Andy and his TV dinner (I brought him some hot coffee in a flask!). A good start for me to the trip acting like a prince! Although Andy says he didnt mind!

The locals (known as Caricoas) call Rio ¨Cidade Maravilhosa¨ (the marvelous city). From a small glimpse it certainly looks that way! Sleeping, eating and a little seaside stroll has been the order of the day.


Our hostel is lush. A rambling old colonial house build on a cliff, overlooking the beach! You can feel something in the air here, a party town indeed! So, stay tuned when we get our teeth into Rio in the next few days. (There are plans of going to see Christ the Redeemer with a drag queen!).





Why Do I have ¨Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand¨and ¨she was a show girl her name was Lola¨spinning in my head.

Paulo, I can't believe you let your wonderful boyfriend sit in the cheap seats (probably sitting next to some fat stinky man with a cough!) and eat nasty plane food while you swanned around in club class having half naked boys letting you eat peeled grapes out of their tanned bellybuttons! Livin' la vida
Hi there boys, so glad to finally get on your blog. Fabulous views, wonderful minimum wage and funny plane photos! Hope you are all happy and well and safe and sound!! Down staddy social club
I mean, tango clubs, music, good wine, gayness. Its shite here and I wish I was down The Staddiscombe social club! Ahhh, hola chicas. Hope you and the em are well. It was nice to hear from you. We are in Buenos Aries right now. Here for a month. Have a lush flat and we are learning basic Spanish at a really good school. Making many new freinds and we are being very sociable.
