We hauled out of bed about 2pm in the afternoon - not surprisingly since we went to bed about 7am. The plan for the day was to finally make it to the beach which is probably under 200m away from our hostel! Yet, since we arrived on the 16th we had not managed to reach the beach. Admittedly, we got close probably about 50ms away... or may be less.

Anyway, we got some fruit and water and headed to what, so far, is the busiest beach I have ever seen! Gaz do gaz (aka butt to butt) is what they call it in Bulgarian. We managed to find a spot, not a particularly great one to eat our brunch of fruit and a cereal bar. We walked along Copacabana beach towards Ipanema, stopping every now and then to watch the surfers. There were a few nice waves, but nothing terribly impressive.

Ipanema beach was even worse! There is a formation of quite big rocks that a few people had gone on to. ..and so did we. For a mini photo shoot...
