Hunting Ferns

One species of edible ferns is called "pakis" in Malay and it is a lot easier to gather than berries. I didn't have to jump up or try to climb trees and I got to pose for a picture with a machete. The raincoat is more to keep the leeches out than to keep me dry. It was so hot and sweaty in the rainforest that I was drenched no matter what I was wearing.
