Wild Orang-Utan

It was a ways from the boat, but we really did see an orang-utan in the wild. The name comes from the Malaysian words orang (people) and utan (forest). This one was in an area that had been logged, not too far from the edge of the forest near a palm oil plantation. The tree has two nests, and orangutans make between one and four nests a day.
