The Angel and the Timeball tower

This shot shows the war memorial clock (broken) with the angel statue on top. To the right is the Timeball tower. At 5 minutes to 1 pm each day, the black ball rises to the top of the post. At 1 pm it falls to the bottom. It is a device that has been used by ships at sea to set their clocks.
A local beach walk at Semaphore

Friends joined us for a walk along our local beach at Semaphore on Saturday. Semaphore is a lovely beach (yes I am biased). The water is reasonably shallow and the waves are small.
