Fungi
We saw the fungi in one of the highest parts of the park, under some large oak trees. It was early Autumn (see date of entry).

Our recent stay at Mawson Lakes...
...My wife & I have recently returned to our home here in North Yorkshire U.K. having spent a wonderful five weeks staying at Mawson Lakes just outside Adelaide City...We were there for our younger son's wedding actually, which was held at the Botanic Gardens in the City...The weather was perfect, the ceremony was very nice & the reception was absolutely fantastic too & we would like to return there next year & catch up with the many friends we have over in Australia...Such a wonderful country with so many friendly people there.

Where and when can these be found?
Hi Diana I am doing a project on these and would love to know the precise location of where these were taken. I want to photograph these for a collage on the Fly Agaric. Also time of year please would be great. ryanh99@tpg.com.au

The can thing
Looks like a Geocache point. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=f9ad0ca5-ff65-4159-8f33-b3d47d1ba965 Makes bushwalking a mission with a twist or two all over the world. You'll probably get hooked now. Regards, John

Mt Bryan Cairn
Thanks Diana, I was so pleased to see a photo taken from the Mt Bryan Cairn, including part of the Orientation Plaque upon it. This place is of special interest to me, as my grandfather (Geo S. Tiver) used to be the owner of the surrounding property "Rupara". I built the Cairn in 2002 with my family & friends as a replacement for the original one which had been demolished by the government to make way for a 'Trig' & communications tower. I moved mine to the south by 100 metres or so for that reason. Glen Tiver

Quinn relations
I am wondering if Thomas Quinn was a relative of james Francis Quinn born c.1842 in County Clare and arrived aboard the Nugget in 1854?

congratulations to Dan
hey Dan, loved your John McDouall Stuart stuff while you were walking. Very original. How did you know about Wm Finke? You can visit www.johnmcdouallstuart.org.au - but be patient as we are rebuilding the webstie after it mysteriously totally vanished. Cheers from Rick, President of the John McDouall Stuart Society

Apple picking cost
Tash asked how much does the apple picking cost? It depends how much you pick. There is a weigh station at the exit and a reasonable per kg price. Great apples :-)

enjoying your posts.
Just through I would drop you a quick line to say I am enjoying reading your posts. I came across your site in searching about Shepherds Hill. I have just started my own blog documenting our bushwalking journey's. Although it is going to take a lot of backtracking to document all our past walks! But this seems like a good site for documenting journey's. Maybe I should consider joining here instead?! It has been really interesting reading and seeing someone else's perspective on a walk I do regularly.

rock collection no-no
Dan, it's illegal to remove rocks from the park (see the park website). I like your page, but please remove the suggestion that the park's a perfect place to start a rock collection.
