Warren Gorge

A close up of the smallish Warren Gorge. Zoom out to see where it is in relation the Quorn (NW of Quorn)

Introduction

One of the key missions of our Quorn adventure was to get some tadpoles (well at least that was Cian and Natalie had in mind). This took us to the very beautiful Warren Gorge, about 20 minutes north of Quorn on the Arden Vale road. This is a camping area with scattered long-drop toilets and little else other than serenity, a flowing creek with tadpoles and a rocks in which to hide yellow-footed rock wallabies (Mum and Dad - you must put this on your to-do list).

We didn't do much of a walk, just climbed up one of the rises to get some exercise, mostly choosing to focus on getting the taddies.

Dan says...

Hello readers,

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

The first thing we did was tadpoling. Some thought that there were no tadpoles, Dad made a joke and said - anyone who says that there are no tadpoles had to agree to eat all of the tadpoles that we found 9that got them searching). There were hundreds - some big and some small. We caught them, and I remember looking at them and saying 'there so cute when they're little".

Then we climbed the gorge - Cian was amazing - he made it up there first (I was next, then Dad, Mun and Ken with Natalie). I found a pretty flower (see photo).

After we did the climb, starting at the place I like to call Spinifex hill. Then Dad made another joke - "hey Dan, look at all that mattress grass, do you want to have a lie down?" (spinifex is so spiky, just one touch puts a hole in my palm). Dad likes a joke.

And now for my joke...

Q: Where do tadpoles change into frogs?
A: In the croak room

Ha Ha

Bye!
