Our final days at sea since leaving Israel have see us call at Naples, Palma de Mallorca and Lisbon. We have been to Naples & Lisbon so did not do any organised tours and as we are coming to the end o the World Cruise decided to take things easy. We met up in Lisbon with the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Victoria and we are now sailing in convoy to Southampton I will post some pictures when we get home of the last three ports of call. It towered above me – a gleaming white marvel of modern engineering. Hundreds of bags were waiting to be delivered to the nearly 1500 cabins. For some strange reason I was anxious about my first cruise – but that is my usual reaction anytime I undertake an entirely new travel experience – whether that be my first steps in Europe, Africa or Middle East. Thankfully, I shared a taxi with two cruising veterans who assuaged many of my concerns, Raymond and Margaret had approximately 40 cruises behind them and had previously cruised on the Celebrity Eclipseso they provided a comforting background on the ship, staff and activities on offer. Day 2 - DAY AT SEA So this day Avi and I woke up feeling pretty refreshed. I believe we slept in a little bit, around 8:30 or 9 or so . We got our bathing suits on I got my little pool bag packed with a book and our sunblock, etc. The book of choice on this trip was Eat, Pray, Love. I've seen the movie about a MILLION times, and I tried reading the book once, but don't even think I got 100 pages in before I had other priorities and abandoned ship (no pun intended). But I wanted to actually finish it this time, and what better time to read about traveling adventures, than when I'm actually on my own travel adventure myself. Geo: 32.5985, -37.4388Its quite hard to blog about sea days as after a few they tend to merge into one. As at home we tend to develop certain routines and habits. We always venture out onto the balcony first thing and Peter brings the coffees which is very nice. We shave, shower and decide what to wear. Forecast for today is partly cloudy skies and a temperature of 22c (75f) degrees which is still very pleasant for us British folk.We have breakfast in the main dining room again before heading to the Imperial Lounge for the Trivia. We do ok. We surprise ourselves by getting some of the more obscure questions correct but kick ourselves for missing some of the easier/obvious ones.
