Franz Josef Glacier
Huge river of ice flowing only kilometers from the ocean. Hi everybody,
We just got back into the US safe and sound! Our last week in New Zealand was amazing and a country on the top of our list of places to go back to.
We spent most of our time on the South Island, driving around and stopping in Christchurch, Franz Josef, and Queenstown with our last day in Auckland. Christchurch and Queenstown were both very cool towns with great little places to eat and a laid back vibe. They were filled with active people and lots of activities to choose from- or do nothing at all.
The drive between towns was incredibly beautiful, dominated by the Southern Alps (and sheep farms). Mountain lakes, rainforests, and the Pacific Coast added up to some spectacular scenery.
Our last day (Aug 24) in New Zealand was Auckland. It's set on a harbour and also has a lot of charm and character, especially for a big city. The Kiwi's are very kind and welcoming too! Due to crossing the International Date Line, we also spent Aug 24 in LA on a 11 hr layover en route to Ohio. We hung out in Santa Monica and soaked up the Cali sun

We are happy to have safely circumnavigated the globe and are gald to be back. It was a blast seeing each place and learning new things.
Thanks for all the notes and messages while we travelled- we are happy to have you to share it with.
We spend a few days in Toledo, recovering, before starting the next chapter of our lives in Columbus.
Thanks again for all the support! We love you guys!
