Cairns, Cape Trib , Tablelands

Been really busy travelling for the past week. Spent time at several places on the coast and inland.

Just some more pictures of my last few days in cairns. Include a BBQ where one of the guys got shat on by a bat and had to go and have a shower. v funny - specially considering he was just going to take a photo.. got more than he bargained for.
Went on a trip to the reef and went snorkelling was really amazing to see all the different fish etc.. and even a couple of sharks.


Cape Tribulation

The furthest you can go up the north of the east coast without a 4 wheel drive. This is where "the rainforest meets the sea". Went kyacking, jumped off a big ledge into a freshwater pool, went to a fruit tasting place where I ate loads of fruit that I'd never heard of.

Tablelands

The tablelands is near cairns but inland. Theres lots of interesting waterfalls and big rolling valleys. Theres a load of bullshit tourist parts, but we couldn't be arsed with those.


Croc Farm

Went to a croc farm which also has kangaroos and birds etc.. Saw the crocs getting fed, held a croc, held a snake which was good.

Magnetic Island

This is an island off the coast. It was used during the second world war as a large base for the australians, and as such it is quite fortified. Named due to captain cooks compass going do-lally when he went to it for some reason.


Anyways. Im feeling good. At a place called Airley Beach at the moment and have booked a boat trip for 3 days to travel round a collection of islands called the whitsundays.

Out of the 3 girls that I started the trip with only 2 remain. The other girl turned out to be a pain in the arse. She could tell we were pissed off with her so she decided to do the sensible thing and leave the car.

She was basically buying very little food and being a greedy cow. Had to go.
