We ran to the top to get this photo on timer!!!! Phew.
Today we back tracked a little in order to cover Paranella Park. Jose Paranella was an immigrant from Spain who settled in North Queensland and built one of the finest homes of its era. It had its own hydro electricity plant that runs off the Mena Creek Falls, which creates one border of the property. The gardens are amazing and its something that most people should definitely check out.
Just up the road was Josephine Falls. It is a beautiful series of cascades with a fantastic swimming hole, including its own natural water slide. The water was pretty cold but so refreshing. We stayed with Anne and her husband Kerry (HC) that night although Anne was out of town and did not arrive back until the following night.
As it was Anzac day we headed down to the esplinade for the annual parade and enjoyed the bustling crowd and the ambiance. We checked out the public lagoon and walked along the boardwalk bordering the beach. Then we took a drive out to some falls and eventually arrived after a slight navigational detour (Mick). We did however enjoy the views of the lovely beaches along the way. Later in the day we
