On Saturday the 21st of May we arrived at Ball Bay, just north of Mackay. The beach looked black but it was actually the shadow coming off little balls of sand made by little crabs. We stayed at a council campsite for twenty bucks. Ash and I swung on the vines coming off the massive trees. The next day we went to see dad’s old school friend Greg at his place in Airlie beach. Ash and I went to the skate park which wasn’t that good because there were skateboarders who stank like @#$%. !!!
We stayed at a caravan park in Airlie beach. It had a pool and a half court tennis area. On Monday we went up Mount Rooper. Mum and I ran, Dad, Ash and Greg walked. When I got back I got mauled by mozzies and micro midgies. We also went fishing at Chute Harbour. We only caught pike, which tastes so bad that Dad chopped it up and we used it as bait. Ash caught an angel fish in its eye which was a bit sad.
We spent the next day at Bowen. We saw the Big Mango and ate yummy mango sorbet from the Tourist Information shop. Dad and Ash fished off the jetty while Mum and I read our books.
