Some of my Faves!
Clockwise from left-Aimee, Peter, Nat and Casey! Well hello again!!! Piper here!
Well we moved on-we left Melbourne. I have to say it was actually pretty sad to go. We had to move on though due to a slight visa problem-which was actually pretty funny! But sadly this meant leaving a bit earlier thus earning a little less than planned and having to cut our year a tad shorter.
I met some great people in Melbourne TGIs who I hope to stay in contact with for the future. My favourites being Wayno, Casey, Aimee, Hayley, Dexter, Tim, Natalia, Peter, Kim and Tom (love you guys!!!!) I actually found myself quite sad to finish work as well. I guess when you haven't done much of it all year it becomes something of a novelty!!! Had some great leaving dos (note the plural, what attention seekers we are! It must've got to the point where everyone was like "JUST LEAVE!!!!!!!!!") Our official party was held at Mr Snoxell's (Matt) place of work Decorum where I was 'acquainted' with the 'airy' owner (haha!) Bless Matt he really looked after us and we managed to not pay for a drink all night! It was a double occasion as we had also managed
Big night out!!
Paul, nat and casey...and the TUTU!! to get Casey a gig there (she's a singer) the previous week (I should so be her manager!). Mind you the poor cow had to perform her songs with meaning whilst trying to work a guitar with a certain Piper cooing and waving at her like a proud mum at her child's Nativity play! When will I learn??
The final of our leaving dos was on our last night in Melbourne so there was much emotional blackmailing going on...."What do you mean you're not sure you can come...YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN!!!!" haha-they came out!!!! Much of this night was spent with me Aimee, Natalia and Hayley getting innocent people in a casino to sing and learn a routine to a couple of songs I made up paying homage to Wayno. Such classics as "Boom boom boom let me hear you say Wayno....WAYNO!" and "No no, no no no no, no no no no, no no Wayno Wayno" (with actions) are not yet available in stores! But we wait with baited breath!!!! haha.
This of course also meant saying goodbye to our lovely housemates Kat and Martin from Czech and Matt-crazy Aussie! The heartbreak came by saying goodbye to the
Part of the leaving party crew!!
L-R Casey, Emma, Aimee, Matt, Nat, Natalia, hayley, Mel and Kam!!! All at Matt's bar-Decorum. 'lovely' Peron! Our black cat who lived with us at Lygon Street. Spawn of the devil!!! The most evil animal that ever lived!!!! (James are you over the mourning yet???) We hope to see Kat and Martin this Xmas in UK-(was great living with you both-stay in touch!) I received a very....touching....goodbye present from Matt....a twig covered with glitter and tin foil! Matt-so very thoughtful! Declaring it at customs was pretty entertaining! "So what is it you'd like to declare Miss Piper?" "Erm.....it's kind of....a twig!" haha. (Thanks Matto gonna miss you loads! Get to England too!)
Anyway having finally left, me and Paul parted company...again!!!! (I can't take the separation!!!) and I headed to Sydney to hopefully meet up with my Irish cousins-whom i had never met-and Paul headed to Brisbane and then the Gold Coast to meet up with a friend of his, Marissa. I caught the overnight coach which was pretty tough work-12hours!! Still I arrived unscathed at 6:45am and headed to a really nice hostel in Kings Cross. Feeling pretty wired from my journey I sat up and chatted to this guy who seemed pretty easy going and good to talk to......erm........OH MY GOD!!!! He was
More of the leaving party crew!
L-R Steven, Al, Nat, Paul, Tony and Paddy (alias Phil!) lovely but the strangest and most tiresome person I may ever have met! But I didn't really discover this until after spending 2days sightseeing with him. He talked incessantly about cars and motorbikes that I actually sometimes couldn't assertain the link....for example.....Nat: "Wow what a lovely day!" Craig "Yeah I remember a time when I was riding a Ducatti series 151 in Metalic blue at a speed of 90mph...that was a lovely day too.....infact i was driving past a Vespa at the time-that's an idea...I think I may work in a Vespa Dealers over here, there's so many of them here. Look Nat a Yamaha 763..." AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Anyway despite all he was a really nice guy and he bought a car (!) and drove me to Surfer's Paradise to meet Pauly. He told me that he was driving there himself but then appeared to turn around and go home after dropping me off after wheel spinning and screeching off into the distance!!! (Niamh and Aoife-I didn't kill him!!!!! I survived the journey!)
One day I took myself to the famous Bondi Beach which is very nice but much smaller than I thought it would be-and much nearer to the city
What an advert!!!!!!!!
My last day at Tgi's L-R Hayley, Nat, Aimee and Wayno (and you Santa Fe-ers...a certain well travlled Del Oro bottle!!!!!) Thought you'd like that one Mikey!!!! than I imagined-it only took 30mins door to door! I can see why it'd be good for the surfers though as the waves were huge! So obviously there were alot of nice surfers so I just sat and marvelled at 'the view'!!
Whilst in Sydney I also bumped into a familiar face. Anyone remember Ste from New Zealand? Well I arrived on his 30th birthday-something that he'd been preparing for the whole time in NZ so i was glad to be there. Was quite a quiet affair and after my mammoth overnight journey I had a pretty early one. Gotta have your beauty sleep-and some of us need it more than most!!!
On my way out of Sydney I tried to meet up with my friend from telegen-Luke Della Santa! (Remember him all you Telegen-ers??) Sadly I totally invented a place where he lived. I could have sworn he lived in Newcastle, just North of Sydney but alas he is a Sydney lad through and through! Very frustrating as i had just spent 3days there and failed to contact him until I was in my way out of the city!! Doh!!! (I'm still sure you tols me Newcastle though Luke!
Circular Quay!
Wow-what a gorgeous day! "Yamaha Yamaha Ducatti Vespa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise how would I know of that place-especially with my appalling Geography!!)
I also managed to meet up with my cousins Niamh and Aoife (those of you who don't speak Gaelic-thats pronounced Neve and Eefa!!) Was really good to meet them after an amusing phone call of..."So....what do you look like???" Had lots of fun-they're great girls-it was always gonna be a successful night though as Niamh quite rightly kept pointing out "the drinks are only $2.50!!!!!" Bargain!! I also finally discovered where my vertical challenged-itis comes from...they're only 4'10"!!! Tiny!!! (If you girls find yourselves back on my side of the world then give me a shout!)
One of the days spent with Craig Motor Man was at the Taronga Zoo-dubbed "the zoo with the view" due to it's amazing view of Sydney harbour. You catch a ferry from Circular Quay and it's one of the nicest zoos I've ever been to-even though I'm not sure I agree with them-but it was the only way I was gonna get to see a koala and a kangaroo and I refused to leave Oz without a photo of at least one. (What a shame I didn't get to go to Bendigo
The view from my hostel!
Sydney by night!....and someone's pants!!! haha! Aimee!) I couldn't hold a koala as it's illegal in the state of New South Wales (Pauly got to hold one though which I'm very jealous of. So instead I made Craig take photos of me with every cuddly toy fake koala I saw!!!!) but I did get the best photo with a kangaroo! My God it was pretty scary though. Their shoulders are huge! I was sat on the wall of the enclosure and he just popped up and posed with me-but I was definitely ready to run as soon as the photo was taken! Anything in the name of photography!!!!!
I also was very impressed with myself as ,being alone, I managed to not only go out on my own but return at 5am having met some great people and only spent $5!!
Anyway after my drive of hell with Mr Top Gear personified I met up with Pauly!! Phew! The relief at seeing another normal person! Well....sort of! But that's all in the next blog.......ooh a cliff hanger!!!!!! haha!!!
Anyway love you guys lots and lots!!!!
Piper
