It was 32 degrees in West Yellowstone this morning but 91 when we stopped for the day here in Greybull, Wyoming. Altitude is everything out west. We drove across Yellowstone one last time this morning on our way east. Despite the aggravation of too many people and a lot of driving, Yellowstone is still a remarkable place. Leaving Yellowstone you have to descend steeply from a mountain pass. The drive from the exit to the next real town of Cody, Wyoming, is about fifty miles, mostly through the Shoshone National Forest, and its a pretty drive the whole way, a mix of forest and mountains and grassy valleys.
