Whitesboro is located about 15 miles east of Sherman, Texas. The event that took us to Whitesboro Texas was the annual Peanut Festival. The little town was alive with a parade underway when we arrived, however a search for lots of peanuts proved to be uneventful. We eventually located a couple of tables downtown that had peanuts being sold and when we inquired about were they originated we were advised there were no peanuts grown around Whitsborro and the peanuts had come in from Oklahoma. So much for the peanut story. The festival was well organized with lots of booths and food, all layed out in a neat and orderlry arrangement. An old car show plus a carnival made up the attractions.
