Saturday morning, I packed up all my stuff and realised that I may need an extra suitcase just to get things home! Oopsy!! I went to fill my new water bottle up (must drink more water!) and it still had ice in it... Still.. 24 hours later! I'm so impressed. I guess I'm easily pleased! Ha. I set off east, and then north, with my spotify set to awesome. Three hours into the drive and I hadn't left the state yet. I'd stopped my finger tapping, and was decidedly bored. We spent New Years Day aboard the USS Yorktown ( an aircrat carrier and battleship) which we wanted to see but was also one of the few tourist destinations available to us that wasn't closed for New Years day. There is so much to see that it is hard to know where to start. We took five of the six self guided tours available and saw the berth, the mess hall, the officers quarters, the galley, the infirmary, the brig, the radar room, the hanger and the flight deck among other things and of course many many planes displayed. To continue our daytrips in South Carolina we spent this day at Boone Plantation, I had originally planned on splitting the day trip up between this plantation and Caw Caw Intrerpretive center but there was so much to do here that we stayed until closing and still didn't see everything. You will notice that tyhere are no interior shots of the Plantation Main house, this is because it is still occupied and the present owners have requested that there be no photography inside the house.
