August 10th, 2011 Wednesday Apgar Campground, Glacier National Park, MT 9:30 it is 53 degrees and overcast but blue sky to the west. Don’t plan to drive out of campground today so ending mileage is 14838 from yesterday’s driving. When we arrived at the camping spot where Bobbi and Carl were parked, the spot right next to them was empty. Valerie drove into that spot and soon Jim, Dianne, and Rocky arrived and parked in back of Bobbi and Carl’s RT. They came out and we all chatted for a good while. Mostly talking about experiences since we saw them last at the Arctic Circle and then what everyone’s plans were from this point onward. After they left heading for Great Falls, we all decide to walk to the visitors’ center and look around. We looked ... read more

Dinner on the deck of the Tap Room which faces the Belton Rail Station, it is awesome watching the BNSF freight trains and seeing the Amtrak come into station while eating. hehe Coupled with amazing views of the mountains in Glacier National Park. It was awesome that the sun did not begin to set until around 9 - 9:30 and so it was pleasant sitting out enjoying the warmth of the sun eating. I loved how it did not get dark until about 10:30-10:45pm haha. I am going to recommend the soup of the day. It was a lovely finely grated red peper and corn soup that was soooo tasty!!! The main entry I had the first night (the 14th) was Montana Meatloaf which was a mixture of Bufflo (bison) and beef. There were bacon strips ... read more

Well here we are again back in the good old USA. We are in Montana, just outside Glacier National Park. We drove from Lake Louise to Glacier National Park yesterday hoping to find somewhere to stay. When we got to the park gate we were told that the road through the park was closing that night, so we decided to keep driving and have the experience of going from one side to the other. The road is called the "Going to the Sun Road", and is regarded as one of the most picturesque roads in the USA. By the time we got to our motel we had been driving for over 10 hours, but it had to be done. They close the road each winter for repairs, so we got through with only a few hours ... read more

Sorry I didn't get to the update until now. These past 8 days have been a mixture of good, bad and ugly. We had some coach engine issues that caused us to make a scheduled stop this first day just 100 miles north of the house. They didn't fix it and we headed west anyway to pick up a part ordered for me to replace in Fargo, ND. We stopped at a Upper Peninsula casino the first night. We stopped in Saginaw, Mn the second night. We crossed the Mississippi River on Sunday morning. It was about the size of the Muskegon river in Muskegon where we crossed it. Very neat. Before we got to Fargo I determined that the engine part wasn't the problem. We had to wait in Fargo until Wednesday AM for an ... read more

We've had the best time up here, visiting with Kerri and Keaton and going through Glacier Park. I'm sure my dumb camera will continue to jumble the order of the pictures but try to wade through it. A couple of the shots are of Kerri's house and from her back yard. They have a beautiful place !! Our second day in the park was on the East side and we could only go about 14 miles in the park from St. Mary's The "Going to the Sun" Hwy. is suppose to open on June 18 or 19. Rats, we can't wait for that. We enjoyed the eastern view anyway and a few shots at the Jackson Glacier. Off to Golden, Canada tomorrow morning and then on into Lake Louise. It might be a while before I ... read more
