A visit to the capital of the good ol' US of A - WASHINGTON D.C. It was a pretty short visit, but we did manage to see quite a few things during our time there. This was both our first time here and when I always heard Washington D.C. I always thought monuments and museums - well I was not far off. It all starts with THE NATIONAL MALL AND ITS MONUMENTS. With a day to unwind, I feel refreshed and glad to be home. Traveling is fun, but too much traveling can be tiring, and as many of you know I've been around the world and back a couple of times in the past year. Soon after I finished writing the last blog at the passenger terminal on Ramstein air base, I was lounging around when they announced an unscheduled mission leaving later that afternoon for Dover. Man did I luck out! I was soooo grateful that I hadn't left the terminal yet. I ran down to confirm what I was praying that I heard right, and there was in fact a flight leaving for Dover later that evening.
