Ok, where the hell do i start with this travel blog, i'm in Cancun, Mexico at the minute checked into a four star hotel because i got an amzing deal for 30quid a night all inclusive which has unlimited booze, ive had 4 beers before writing this so bare with me. So US and A where to begin, well after leaving the Cook Islands i must say i was slightly nervous about flying into the states as i had heard some real horror stories about customs giving you grief, but to my suprise it wasnt that bad, although my Customs officer was a bit of a tw$t! A couple went through before me and were missing one form so this guy shouts out to his buddy "hey flash!, you got one of those green forms over there? hold it up for me!" he then said to the couple "you see that form? you see those doors over there, thast as far as your getting without that form". I could´nt help it but i had to shout "tosser!" whilst couging under my breath, what a cock! Anyhoo entry into the US ordeal over and done with. Picked up my new Chrysler
rent a car which only cost me 100quid for two weeks, not bad, and headed for the motel in LA to get some kip ready for anticipation of the yanks. I have to say i did´nt think i was going to like the US and that i thought most americans were going to really loud and brash, they are´nt, the people i met were really sound and it turns out i really liked the states, every person i did meet were really friendly and i´m not just takling about hookers and strippers. Did the usually touristy bits, went to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Universal Studios, Beverlly Hills and Hollywood, I actually spent my ahem .....18th birthday in Hollywood, it was pretty cool, went to Hooters got chattin to this American bloke from San Diego who kep saying "Sheeeeet!" and "God Damm it!" all the time but he showed us round a few good bars and clubs and bought me and Mark a few beers (no he did´nt try and bum me Rich before you say anything!) so it was quite a good night (especially in Hooters). So that was pretty much it in LA, i did´nt really bother taking many
Grand Canyon
i reckon i make the grand canyon look better photos as its really smoggy all the time, but i thought LA was ok despite all the abuse it gets.
Vegas Baby! holly shit talk about spending money quick, i spent a shitload. Managed to stay in the Sahara Hotel which is on the strip for good price but i spent most of my money on gambling and i might have gone to a strip club ahem for a short time. Was all good fun though but you can just spend your money so quickly there, (Adam, Mike you would have loved it but you guys would mortgage your house to stay there so i dont think its wise if you went, i missed UFC by 1 week aswell! DOH!) There are some really freaky people walking the streets at night and i dont just mean look weird i mean they act compleltey nuts, i dont think its safe for them to be on the streets. Went to all the top name casinos, Bellagio, Ceasars Palace, Luxor etc etc you get the idea. Actually the Bellagio is really nice if i go back to Vegas i think i will try and stay there, some of you might have heard
about the water show they have at the front, its pretty amazing the way the jets of water are timed to the music to show an aquatic dance if thats what you would call it. So that was Vegas really, burned a massive hole in my pocket but really loved it, so its back to LA to fly to San Francisco.
San Francisco, so we turn up at the airport ready for our flight only to find its been delayed, our first flight with United airlines and i can honetsly say they are complete bollocks, never fly with them i wont go into it but they have cocked up my travelling so many times and cost me almost a week to sort out! arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!. Ok back San Francisco, so i´m at the airport and the flight has been delayed and i got chatting to this girl who was telling me what to do in San Francisco, they have this parade called Bay to Breakers or something like that and everyone gets dressed up and goes on this 7 mile walk and generally get completely pissed at 7am, she was´nt lying people are just walking through the streets in the
buff or the most weird outfits you have ever seen, its mental! has anyone ever heard of this?
I should also probably mention that whilst in the airport i was phoning round for places to stay, everywhere was fully booked because of this bay to breakers and some other conference thing going on so basically we were heading to San Francisco to sleep on a park bench, oh poo! Luckily whilst talking to this girl (Mele) this guy joins in the converstaion and invites us to his girlfriends birthday party which is happening that night, we ask him if he knows any hotels and he gets his girlfriend to phone 30 hotels, motels and hostels for places to stay they are all fully booked, we are screwed! this guy says look i have a one bed flat you guys can crash on my living room floor and we can go to my girlfriends birthday if you want, result! so by pure luck we managed to get somewhere to crash for the night and went out with some of the local San Fransiscans on the piss down in the misson, cool!
So crisis over we moved onto a motel
and said thanks to Jack for sorthing us out bigtime! went to Alcatraz prison, thats quite good to see although it is dam windy round there (Tonia were you in San Francisco the other week? just checkin). Its quite cosmopolitan in San Francisco loads of bars, coffee shops and clothes shops (reminds me slighty of Melbourne Dave), went round the Golden Gate Bridge and out to Muir woods to see the Redwoods aswell. Really nice place San Francisco, very clean and some really cool places to go out. So thats about it for my states trip like all my travelblogs ive done so much more than what ive wrote about but because ive done so much (and drank so much) its hard to remeber everything when i come to write it down. I´m going back to the bar to get more booze, drink it whilst its there. ta ta hic!
