Buenas dias Amigos,
So i have been in Mexico for the last leg of the trip, first stop Cancun (bare with me while typing this as the bloody "w" and "e" on they keyboard hardly work), not much to tell about Cancun really its geared up for American tourists when they are on spring break, so its mainly lounging by the pool or on the beach and drinking shitloads, so was pretty dam good although i did manage to burn my armpits in the sun, ow! Went downtown to mingle with the locals but theres not much to see to be honest, plus there is the hole language barrier, hardly anyon speaks english, i did manage to pick up some Cuban cigars though and got quite a good deal on them, so i will look forard to sneaking them through US customs. Its fairly quiet this time of year in Mexico so there are not many people about, met a few americans in the hotel bar and 1 guy was a complete piss head, he drank a bottle of Havanna Club by the pool in a few hours, he couldnt even stand up, his wife was well impressed. So
after Cancun we headed to Mexico City, by this point i should say that Mark was not exactly enjoying Mexico, we went to the Centro Historico and did all the touristy bits around the Zocalo (town square) and the Palace. Its a bit dodgy in Mexico City, there are loads of pick pockets around and Taxi drivers are known for armed robberies and have a history of violence, but after seeing it for myself i dont think its that bad, i didnt have any problems but i think it put Mark off quite a bit as he didnt want to go out anywhere and stayed in the room most of the time. Luckily my brother decided to come over for 10 days so i met up with him and we went out for some beers around the City. We headed out to the Pyramids, which has the biggest pyrmaid in the world and you can climb to the top which is quite an effort as it is bloody hot, i also learnt how to drink Tequilla properlly which is much better than how we do it in England, improves the taste dramatically. I wanted to go to a bullfight, but
its not the right season for it so i was bit gutted i didnt get to see one, i will have to head over to spain when i get back to see one. After speaking with Mark he decided to head home early as he wasnt enjoying it and said it as too much effort with the language. So my brother and i decided to head down to Acapulco and Mark left Mexico city for New York then home, Acapulco is dam hot! the humidity is almost as bad as Bangkok, so we checked into a half decent hotel (or so we thought) which my brother paid for, ha ha thank you very much, but its was over priced the hotel lobby and the rest of ground floor were really nice but the room was barely average, if we were paying full price then......... sorry if HE was paying full price then it would have been a rip off, the service can only be described as "fucking terrible" i have never seen such a bunch of Lazy bastards, if you order just a beer at the bar it can take 20 minutes just to get it. Word of advice dont
Mark
I told Mark to have a shave stay at the Hyatt in Acapulco, anyhoo enough of the whinging im on holiday for christs sake! we headed into to town and got chatting to some of the locals that told us about some Cliff Diving down the road, check out the photos its pretty impressive the heights they jump from and the flips and tumbles they do into the sea. Can some one tell me why in th name of greek buggery did i get up at 5am whilst on holiday to go deep sea fishing, the day started with my brother having a severe case of the jappy crappies and turning the toilet into what can only be described as a bowl of poo soup! and the smell was like death, he broke the toilet and it wouldnt flush! i couldnt even have a shower in the morning, i am getting a hole de ja vous of the Martin incident back in our house in Canterbury rich and remember how bad that smelled. I will stop it with the poo talk as Tonia keeps saying i am obsessed with poo, stop analyzing me woman! The fishing was pretty good though baring in mind i have never fished
Myan statue
dont know why i took a photo of this i just did before, we both caught Sail Fish, my brother caught one ten foot and mine was about 8 foot, th efirst mat got stabbed in leg by the sail fishes bill and then when i caught onehe got pulled into the sea, which is bloody dangerous as this fish could turn you into a Kebab.
So thats about it for Mexico, the people are really friendly but i think you definitley need to learn more than just a few words in spanish before you get here it would mak like so much more easier as its just not geared up for tourists. My brother has gone back to England and i have checked into a new Hotel called the Fairmont Pierre Marques, its 5 star and really nice the service is excellant and for 5 nights its only cost me 235 pound, so cant complain there, i am just going to lounge by the pool and have a few beers, the beach is much nicer round here as well, when i was at the Hyatt the sea water was brown and had loads of shit floating in it, nice! Im leaving on Monday for New York and will b back
Pyramids
just before the climb in Sunny England on Thursday, i will do another small travelblog for New York though so this wont be the last one, so that will be it, i have almost gone full circle around the world, i just need to start thinking about the next trip , when and where.
Take care dudes
