Kazdopadne cesta ubihala, Milanek radeji spal, Rada povidala a navigovala, az jsme ... read more

NAME: YEO MYEONG. 2008/7.25(Fri) We are going to wales and we ate sandwich and some fruit. For lunch it was delicious but cold. We ride Kevin’ father car. Our camping field is dirty with too many cow poos and flies. Jina and I didn’t make our tent because Tiem helped make it. Next we ate dinner, we eat dinner of hot dog and bread. The weather was sunny and windy. Our toilet was very scary and dirty. We went to tent because we were very tired, it was very good but at night it was raining. 2008/7.26 (Sat) Today I got up at 8 o’clock. We ate cereal and bread for breakfast, but I only ate bread. We had a shower, it was so dirty and not very good service, next we went to a castle, ... read more

Friday night after work I met up with Vicki, her brother and his mate and we all jumped in a tiny corolla and headed for Northern Wales to do some hiking for the weekend. I had met Vicki in Pai, Northern Thailand and we did a 3 day trek and just chilled out for around a week doing nothing as is the normal in Pai. Her brother is a dead keen hiker and having graduated from boys scouts a long time ago he still loves to hike with his best mate Guy. If I had known they were kind of hard core I mightn't had come on the trip to hold them back but to them this hike would be a piece of piss. We arrived in Snowdonia around 11:30pm Friday night after some heavy traffic ... read more

"It's easy", they said. "There were girls doing it in flip flops", they said. Apparently the 3 hour trek up Mt Snowdon, in Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, Northern Wales, is a piece of cake. Except if you're me. My roomates in Caernarfon told me it would be easy, though it would take about 5 hours up and back. Okay, thought I, I'll set off early, do the trek and chill out in Caernarfon for the afternoon. A nice easy day before I head off to Dublin. Evidently the gods were bored last Thursday. I should have realised something was going to go wrong when I woke up and it was raining. But I pushed on determinedly, packing my waterproof jacket and some lunch just in case. I managed to catch my bus at 8:40am and ... read more

I'm in Dublin at the moment, having come from Caernarfon (pronouced Car-nar-von) in the northern Welsh county of Gwynedd. For those of you playing at home, Caernarfon is on the west coast of mainland Wales, just across the passage from the Isle of Anglesey. Anglesey is joined to mainland Wales by a bridge and historically significant as it was the Druids last stronghold in the fight against the invading Vikings. But that's enough history lesson for today. North Wales was interesting. I would even go so far as to say it was my first "real" travelling experience - having to cope on my own, not speaking the language and not really having any idea where I was or how to get where I wanted to go. Everywhere else I've been has been relatively easy for me ... read more

First visit to Wales to climb Snowdon (our second of the UK 3 peaks, after completing Scafell pike last September). Weather was a bit rough but we were determined to do it after not being able to complete Ben Nevis in March due to too much snow and ice. There was still little patches of snow up the top, and the walk up the miners path was super, past two lakes, I could imagine in summer it would be even more beautiful. We did come off the main path a bit though and it ended up a tad treachorous but got through it ok but it was scary. It was satisfying to get to the top and Im glad the railway was not running otherwise we may have cheated and caught it back down. It was ... read more

We’re driving through Northern Wales to catch the Irish ferry tomorrow; passing so many sweet little villages. We stopped to have a look at the ruins of a castle but they wanted to charge too much to have a closer look. As we drove through Conwy we noticed a huge castle with the old town surrounded by fortified walls. What a lucky find this town is. We were able to walk along the walls which still run completely around the town. Then we came to the castle and just had to have a look inside. It was fascinating. The town is on a river with a quaint fishing quayside with fishermen tending their crab pots(?) So we sat here and had pies (again) for lunch. We also saw Britain’s smallest house which is two stories but ... read more

We have officially commenced a career of hiking...None of this pussy-footing around, straight to the big guns for us! To Snowden and beyond!!! It was with such enthusiasm we headed to Wales for a weekend in the glorious Snowdonia National Park. It was a last minute decision really-a product of a 5-day weekend thanks to Easter and our mutual employers' policies of an aditional 'Easter Tuesday' holiday day..no complaints from us! So it was that we set off on the coldest Easter Saturday on record for several decades. Where just weeks ago we'd been reacquainted with the sun, basking in early Spring sunlight, snow had now descended upon us...and descend it did. It was fortunate we set off quite early as we later learned many roads in Yorkshire had to be closed due to the bad ... read more
