This is my first travel blog. I had not traveled to a foreign country only until 2001 when I completed my first post-graduate degree and got a job at a University in Hanoi. So Glasgow is my first destination to explore. We went with a group of six. Starting at Hanoi airport, we checked in in time to be announced that the fight Hanoi - Hong Kong was delayed for 2 hours. Pacific Airline did not explain the reason, and we had to wait inside the waiting room with quite a number of passengers. It was not that good start!... read more

We had a week off school for Spring Break so decided to visit Linda's sister Shirley and her kids in Northern Ireland since we hadn't been to visit since Trevor's funeral in November 1991. 1 April 1994 Friday. We drove to Calais and caught the ferry to Dover; then continued around London and up the M40 and M6 to Carlisle where we spent the night at the Post House Hotel. After supper the kids had a swim at their indoor pool, and then we turned in. 2 April 1994 Saturday. After breakfast we drove to and visited Dumfries of Sir Walter Scott fame, on the way to catching the ferry in Stranraer for the crossing to Larne, Northern Ireland.
