Hello All! I thought I would try the travel blog thing to actually keep track of this trip and all the crazy trips and exciting adventures. So Welcome! So I guess of course I should start with the trip over... Day 1/2: Silly me, I stayed up most of the night and thought I would make it up during the flight over as I've done before and flew from st. louis to chicago (O'Hare for all of you familiar with THAT airport...) and had no problem, then had to transfer to the international terminal b/c i flew with Aer Lingus. What a differnt world! After standing in line for 1 1/2 hrs to go through security it's like you actually go to a different country. It was fortunate timing that I should arrive in Scotland towards the end of the Edinburgh festival. I had a one night stay in this fabulous city before heading up to Anstruther for Elgar the Great’s wedding. Endinburgh is a young and exciting city, and most importantly, it is very Scottish. Most large European cities do not invoke a feeling unique to the country in which it is situated. Dublin especially didn’t feel particularly Irish, and many parts of Barcelona just felt like any other European city (although I did love it!). But being in Edinburgh, I was acutely aware of the fact that I was indeed in Scotland. Missus Lorraine Dunbar By Miss Wendy O The Hen Night Dream Boyz, pink fluffy handcuffs and a dancing pole …. But enough about the stag night, the hen event was a much classier affair. In the afternoon, Lauren, Helen, Erin, Lorraine and I took off to Dunfermline for a spot of water-skiing. Of course a bottle of champagne was in order to prepare us for the cold icy waters on this drizzly Scottish afternoon. The Hen was first up and got to her feet before swallowing half the murky loch and retiring. I had a go wakeboarding, which was heaps of fun and had a few impressive falls as always.
