Admittedly it was never my intention to work over the summer. Having returned to my old Burnham stomping ground from Poole, I decided that I would enjoy a carefree summer, with no burden of work responsibility, before beginning my world travels in October. What I hadn't expected was the chance meeting at the football club that would change the course of the summer's events significantly for the better... I hadn't intended to go to the football club that Saturday. Why is starting to write anything so difficult? From one distant memory - school - starting to write any essay would take me twice as long as constructing the main body of the text. Let's not even get started on university - where finding a suitable question to answer, let alone writing anything longer than four sentences in response to an examination question, was nothing short of a minor miracle. At least the paragraph above has broken the ice - surely writing anything from now on will be a doddle? So where to begin... March 2011 can comfortably be described as the start of my revolution. Laura’s parents Derek and Mary picked us up from the train station and delivered us to a little B&B close to their home. It was Troy’s first time at a B&B and the welcoming Shirley was definately a stark contrast to being treated like a number. The bedroom was quite easily double the size of the Japanese hotel rooms, and the most comfortable bed we have had so far on the trip. After finishing our game of Monopoly (Anna won, which put a smile on her face) we walked by the seaside to Wetherspoons pub down the road for a bite.
